Sainte Croix du Verdon – The history of the valley

The 50s. Imagine a valley surrounded by gently sloping hills. In the early morning, this valley is completely awash in a thick, pure white mist, held captive by the surrounding hills. Imagine, too, a sparse vegetation of oaks, pines and cypresses. In the center of this plain, fields of wheat, barley, olives and vines flourish. Lavender, truffles, honey and flower bulbs are also cultivated by the few inhabitants who have not yet deserted the area…
