The villages

from the Tourist Office

There’s no shortage of titles for Bargème: “most beautiful village in France”, “precious stone set in rock”, “highest village in the Var” – what more could you want? In a pastoral landscape, harmony is sculpted between the remains of a feudal castle and a Romanesque chapel, against a backdrop of the Artuby cliffs.

Châteaudouble, “the eagle’s nest”, dominates the “classified site” of the Nartuby gorges.

Behind its high facades, this small citadel shelters terraces with impressive views.

From its watchtower and wind table, cliffs and wild landscapes can be tamed.

Nestled in the foothills of the Verdon at an altitude of 600 meters, Ampus, a village of character, reveals its Provencal soul. An invitation to stroll along the water trail and the Way of the Cross, before taking your time in one of the village squares.
