Notre-Dame de Valvert Chapel

A preserved heritage, a shared history

Imagine wandering through a corner of France where time seems to have stood still. At the turn of a country lane, you’ll discover the Notre-Dame-de-Valvert chapel, a treasure trove of history and beauty nestled in a setting of Annot sandstone. Once the church of a Lérins priory, this chapel is distinguished by its austerity and lack of decoration. It is precisely this simplicity that gives it its irresistible charm. You’ll find yourself immersed in a peaceful atmosphere, where every stone breathes history. Listed as a historic monument in 1927, the chapel was restored in 1929, preserving its heritage for future generations. Next to it, you’ll find a cemetery whose origins probably date back to the construction of this church, adding a mystical dimension to this exceptional place.
