Nestled in the Southern Alps, in the north of the Alpes de Haute Provence département, the Val d’Allos comprises three sites, at three different altitudes, all of which have been awarded the“villages fleuris” label:

  • At an altitude of 1400 meters: Val d’Allos le Village
  • At 1500 meters altitude : Val d’Allos Le Seignus
  • At an altitude of 1800 meters: Val d’Allos la Foux

Located on the edge of the Mercantour National Park and perched in the Upper Verdon Valley, the Val d’Allos will not leave you indifferent. Val d’Allos le Village

Just 16 km from the summit of the Col d’Allos, the village of Allos, close to the resorts, invites you to explore its monuments and authentic mountain charm. You’ll be charmed by its lively main street and shops, which welcome you with warm hospitality whatever the season. Throughout the summer months, markets and festivities punctuate village life in a dynamic, friendly atmosphere. Perfect for sharing moments that will only enhance your stay. Imagine yourself in one of the charming chalets that surround the village, where it’s a real pleasure to welcome the sunrise. You’ll be able to set off on numerous signposted hikes, and enjoy the leisure park where swimming, outdoor activities and relaxation all come together in harmony.

Val d’Allos le Seignus

Situated a little higher up, this resort will delight you with its snow-covered slopes and forest edges. The inspiring views of the peaks of the Mercantour National Park, including the famous Mont Pelat, will give you a real sense of freedom. The birthplace of French Enduro, it’s also the ideal place for mountain biking, especially downhill. If you’re a downhill enthusiast, the Bike Park du Seignus is the place to be. Take to the trails adapted to your level and feel the intensity of the descent.
Take note! The lifts are open all summer for mountain bikers and hikers. Enjoy panoramic views of the Verdon valley, the Grande Séolane and the Mercantour National Park.

Val d’Allos la Foux

At an altitude of 1,800 meters, La Foux is the highest point in the Val d’Allos. It’s where the rushing Verdon river begins its journey towards the famous Gorges du Verdon and into the Lac de Sainte-Croix. To ensure your well-being, the Val d’Allos resorts have been awarded the “Famille Plus Montagne” label, guaranteeing a personalized welcome for families, adapted activities and entertainment, and special attention to children to keep them happy. On the program: snow garden, toboggan runs, skating rink, crèche, toy library and Maison des petits montagnards… All in the heart of the resort and within easy walking distance! If you’re new to skiing or snowboarding, the Val d’Allos fun learning area will give you the confidence you need for your first runs. If you’d like to perfect your technique, ski schools are at your disposal.

Val d’Allos is linked to Praloup, one of the largest ski areas in the Southern Alps. So say hello to theEspace Lumière and ski freely down the slopes of Val d’Allos, Seignus and Praloup under the southern sun. With its sunshine and pleasant temperatures, the Val d’Allos also benefits from high levels of precipitation, ensuring quality snow for your vacations. Summer

In the Val d'Allos

Once the snow has melted, the magic of the Val d’Allos unfolds in every element of the landscape. Its mountain trails reveal themselves to the delight of nature lovers and hikers, giving rise to unique moments in the heart of the Alpine Verdon.

A complete change of scenery, it’s in summer that the mountains unveil a dazzling palette of colors and reveal the subtleties of their relief. The geological diversity of the Val d’Allos will transport you through surprising contrasts, inviting you to explore larch forests, marvel at the brightness of its fields and contemplate the long waterfalls that pour into the valleys where the herds pass by.

Hiking

Here, more than 1,000 kilometers of marked trails are available throughout the valley, whether for family outings or more challenging hikes. Natural nuggets such as the renowned Lac d’Allos, the famous springs of the Verdon or the emblematic Mont Pelat, the valley’s highest point at 3052 metres, are waiting to be discovered.

This land is home to an abundance of wildlife, and you may well catch sight of a marmot speeding along, or the elegant silhouettes of chamois and ibex in the distance, or even meet the gaze of a golden eagle in flight. And let’s not forget the emblematic flowers, such as martagon lilies, edelweiss and elegant willowherbs, which also contribute to the picturesque character of our valley.

Cycling

Mountain bikers will also be delighted by the specially prepared trails, offering a variety of challenges and thrills. If you prefer road biking, head for the Col d’Allos at 2247m altitude, linking the Ubaye and Verdon valleys. Wind your way up its narrow switchbacks and take in the view of the surrounding peaks. Once there, your footsteps will lead you through mountain pastures dotted with brilliantly colored flowers… And why not enjoy a picnic lunch? If you still have some energy left, continue on to the Col de la Cayolle, one of the wildest and most beautiful passes in the French Alps, before reaching the Col des champs. Here, you’ll feel like you’re strolling through a postcard catalog. With its birdsong, marmot calls, fragrant scents and few passing cars, it’s a cyclist’s paradise!
